A bit of history.
Stack2 has been providing IT and web hosting services to Australian businesses since 2008. Over those years we operated under earlier brand names before consolidating under the Stack2 identity we use today.
We watched a lot of Australian hosting companies get acquired, offshore their support, or quietly drop service quality after they got big enough. That's not our story. We're still the same team, still based in Melbourne, and still the people who actually answer your tickets.
When we expanded under the Stack2 brand we used it as an opportunity to rebuild on a better foundation — NVMe SSD, fully isolated containers, modern tooling like WP Toolkit, and Australian-only data residency. We also set pricing that reflects what quality hosting actually costs, rather than racing to the bottom and upselling the basics.
IT support has always been part of what we do. Many of our clients don't have an internal IT team — they're a 10-person accounting firm, a law practice, a trades business. We fill that gap: Microsoft 365 setup and management, day-to-day helpdesk, hardware advice, and being the number to call when something breaks. Remote support handles most issues fast; for clients in Melbourne, we can be on-site when the situation needs it.

Each site runs in its own container. One site getting hammered or compromised doesn't affect the others. This is how it should work — it's not the default at budget shared hosts.

SSL, backups, malware scanning, WAF, email — it's in the base price. We don't use loss-leader pricing to sign you up and then charge for the basics as add-ons.
We use our own stack
Stack2's own sites run on the same infrastructure we sell. When there's an issue, we feel it too. That keeps us honest about uptime, performance, and what good hosting actually looks like.
We're in this for the long term
We've been at this since 2008. We're not backed by private equity looking for an exit. Our customers tend to stay for years, and that's what we optimise for — not growth-at-any-cost.

Remote support resolves most issues in minutes without waiting for a technician. For Melbourne clients, we come on-site for hardware, office moves, and network setup — but we won't book a site visit when a remote session will do the job faster.
