Look up a domain's name servers.
See exactly who's authoritative for its DNS.
Enter a domain name below to see the name servers it's delegated to, straight from the registry — plus the SOA record for the zone.
A name server lookup tells you which servers are authoritative for a domain's DNS — in other words, who actually controls where its website, email and other records point. It's the fastest way to confirm a domain has been delegated to the right provider after a migration, check whether a DNS change has propagated, or work out who's hosting a client's DNS before you take over a site. This tool queries the domain's NS records directly, along with its SOA record for the zone's primary name server and serial number, so you get a clean, focused answer without digging through a full DNS dump. Built for agencies, developers and IT teams. No login, no rate limits.
What a name server lookup actually tells you.
Who's authoritative
A domain's NS records name the servers that hold the master copy of its DNS zone. Whoever controls those servers controls where the domain's website, email and subdomains resolve.
Confirming propagation
After changing a domain's nameservers at the registrar, propagation can take anywhere from minutes to 48 hours. Running a lookup confirms which set is currently live.
SOA & zone serial
The SOA record names the primary name server for the zone and its serial number, which increments on every DNS change — useful for confirming a recent edit actually saved.
